
Kindra
Scharich is a musician who truly values teaching and performing
opportunities alike. A versatile musician, Ms. Scharich is trained
on both voice and piano and received her education at the Eastman
School, University of Michigan and San Francisco Conservatory of
Music.
Kindra
has actively performed in Opera and Oratorio both in her native
Michigan and in the San Francisco Bay Area. Performing experiences
have included roles such as Hansel in Humperkinck’s Hansel
und Gretel, Perichole in Offenbach’s La Perichole, Vera Baronel
in Menotti’s The Consul as well as the alto soloist in Handel’s
Messiah and the great choral works of J.S. Bach. This spring Kindra
will be performing the role of Abuela/La Mulata in Holdridge’s
Journey to Cordoba with the LA Opera’s outreach and education.
Kindra
is an active teacher with over 7 years of experience with students
of varying ages, abilities and backgrounds. Her teaching experience
is vast and includes private piano and voice instruction, musical
directorship for young people’s musical theater, as well as
group instruction in a classroom setting. Kindra is thrilled to
be a new faculty member and have the opportunity to work with students
at The New Mozart School.
