Kindermusik:Our Time (ages
2-3)

Can you
sound like an elephant? Or hop like a bunny? Our Time encourages
your child to uncover an engaging musical world while building
confidence, self-control and communications skills. Singing,
imitating sounds, rhyming and object identification foster
language skills. Creative movement to various musical “moods”
develops a sense of balance, timing and spatial awareness.
Listening and turn-taking encourage blossoming social skills.
Along with an accompanying parent or caregiver,
children meet weekly for a 45-minute class and enjoy singing,
moving, listening and interacting socially, and playing simple
instruments. Exploration Time encourages a child's discovery
of specially designed instruments, textures, sounds and movements;
language skills are fostered with singing, sound imitation,
and vocal play; Music & Movement Story Time encourages
emergent literacy skills; and creative dancing affirms a child's
urge to move.
Music
in Me & More Music In Me (ages 3-4)

2 - 18 weeks program, 45 minutes weekly
This dynamic readiness program is structured so that your
child will learn to play music the same way he or she learned
to speak-by listening, repeating and responding. A parent
or caregiver attends, take notes, and can coach daily at home.
Music in Me contains the basic elements of rhythm, melody,
pitch, dynamics phrasing, and form. Concepts are learned through
keyboard playing, solfege singing (naming notes using do-re-mi),
movement activities and the use of rhythmic instruments. As
your child develops a trained ear and learns to create and
perform music in a non-competitive environment, he or she
will develop coordination, concentration and self-confidence.
This layered natural approach emphasizes the ensemble aspects
of music and it is wonderful preparation for further studies.
Parents are fully involved in class and at home.
Harmony
Road (K-2nd Gr)

4 - 18 wks program, 50 minutes weekly
The Harmony Road course is carefully constructed for children
to learn the basic building blocks of music. Emphasis is on
ear training, solfege singing, keyboard playing, ensemble
and rhythm activities, movement and music creativity. This
exceptional course gives the student "inner hearing",
which makes transposing, improvisation and composing easily
accessible in their musical studies. Parents and caregivers
are fully involved in class and at home.
By the end of
the 1st semester of HR., children are able to play approximately
8-10 piano pieces(3 of them with both hands), Read notes on
the Bass & Treble clef, learn simple harmonization techiniques,
and sing over 20 songs.
The
Young Musician (2nd-4th Gr)

4 - 18 wks program, 50 minutes weekly
The Young Musician course introduces beginning students to
keyboard performance and note reading in a holistic program,
including the organized development of pitch, rhythm, solfege
singing, keyboard and movement activities. Parent involvement
in class and at home.
Keyboard
Musician (advanced course)
4 - 18 wks program, 55 minutes weekly
The Keyboard Musician course is for students who have completed
Harmony Road Book 4, or Young Musician Book 4. Students continue
to develop performance skills through the study of varied
repertoire styles, technical studies, sight-reading songs
and three and four part ensembles. Ear trainings expanded
to include dictation, recognition of tonal centers and chord
progressions. Transposing becomes an easily accessible activity.
Students learn to accompany themselves while singing solfege.
Two part singing and artistic repertoire encourage expressive
musicianship. Harmonic training develops an understanding
of accompaniment styles. Students are given step by step techniques
to develop their own creativity through music composition.
In this program students become acquainted with major composers
and their place in music history. Parent involvement encouraged.
