Important Rehearsal Information

Location: Sibelius Room, California Campus
When: Friday, April 11th 6-8 pm
Who: Performers who'll be performing with the accompanist

Please come & rehearse with our professional accompanist so that you are better prepared for the performance on Sunday.

This is your ONLY chance to rehearse with the accompanist. There is no fee to participate in the recital. However, if you use our accompanist (for rehearsal and/or the performance), there is $25 fee.

Important Information for Participating Students on the Recital Day.

To ensure that everyone can enjoy the experience, we ask that you observe the concert etiquette outlined on this page.

IMPORTANT: Please arrive at the hall 20 minutes before the performance. Make sure to calculate the time to park and walk up the stairs (extra 15 minutes).

Recital Dress Code & Etiquette

Dress Code

* Semi-formal/Formal attire is appropriate

* Female performers should wear knee-length skirts or dresses, or dressy slacks with blouses. Exposed midriff (mini-skirt, slit on right side) is not permitted.

* Male performers should wear dress slacks and dress shirt. Ties and jackets are optional.

* If possible, wear dress shoes. No athletic shoes or back-less sandals. Shoes should be comfortable for walking across the stage

Recital Etiquette

* Teachers and students must arrive 20 minutes prior to the performance. All sessions will start on time. If you are late, please enter the hall between performers.

* Turn off all pagers and cell phones.

* No gum, food, or drinks at anytime. No talking or whispering during the performance.

* We ask that you kindly remain during the entire program out of consideration for all performers.

* Students should go over the recital etiquettes and stage presence with their teacher.

* This is a family event and everyone is welcome to attend. However, if you have a young child (Under 6 yrs of age), please sit near the door, and step outside if your child is disruptive. We have MANY young performers and noise and other disturbances can seriously affect their performance. Thanks for your help in advance.

Directions to Foothill College (Appreciation Hall)

From I-280, take El Monte Road west; immediately bear right to enter From I-280, take El Monte Road west; immediately bear right to enter the Foothill College campus, then turn right once again on the one-way loop road around the campus. The address of the campus is 12345 El Monte Rd., Los Altos Hills, CA.

The first parking lot (Lot 1) on your right will be the shortest walk, there are steep stairs up the hill to the theater. For a longer but nearly level walk, continue driving around the loop road to Lot 6. Appreciation Hall (marked building 1500 on the campus map) is located across the Smithwick Theater.

Parking rules are enforced at all times; please bring $2 for the parking-permit vending machines located in each lot. (Eight quarters will be accepted at every machine; some but not all machines may take dollar coins or bills as well.)
