Why New Mozart is the Best Choice for You
Focus
On Teaching
All we do is teach. We do not sell or rent instruments of music.
This leaves us free to specialize in one thing - providing the
highest qualty of music education.
Private
Lessons
We offer private lessons in piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar,
electric bass, and voice. Private
lessons ensure that the student has the undivided attention
of the teacher and can progress at a level suited to them individually.
University
Trained Teachers
Our instructors are highly qualified and many have extensive
performance experience. Most importantly, our instructors strive
to relate their teaching to each individual student's learning
style.
All
Ages - Beginners to Advanced
Our current private lessons students range from 4 years old
to many students in their 60's and 70's. We take care to teach
what you want to learn so music is rewarding for students of
all ages and levels.
Regular
Concerts and Recitals Recitals
and concerts are held at least twice a year. These provide students
with performance experience and build confidence. Participation
in music festivals, competitions and workshops is also available.
Exam
Preparation
We offer full training in repertoire, studies, technique, ear
training and sight reading to prepare classical students for
various exams.

Thank you so much for coming out on
December 10th & 11th to hear New Mozart students.
Nearly 250 students performed!
We want to congratulate our very talented
students on their successful performances. They did
beautifully and it was wonderful to witness the growth
of some amazing talents we have at New Mozart.
We also feel extremely blessed to be
working with such dedicated music educators as well
as parents who believe in music education and its impact
on children's lives.
We'd like to give special thanks to
our parent volunteers who helped us run the recitals.
We really couldn't make it happen without your help!
We're also very excited to announce
that we raised $4885 this past weekend. This brings
our 2011 total raised from all of our concerts to $12175!
At
the very moment that a child is born, parents are often
at awe with the sudden presence of a new creation, so
perfect and full of potential.
Their instinctive feeling for
their child’s vast potential is mirrored by an
amazing transformation that the child will go through
during the first few years of his/her life to begin
fulfilling that potential.
Although
a newborn is “pre-wired” to learn life’s
many basic but complicated skills, such as language
acquisition and motor skills, how well they master these
skills will depend on their environment and the types
of stimuli that they are exposed to during those early
years.
Research
findings in developmental psychology have established
the existence of developmentally “sensitive”
periods, during
which a child must learn certain aspects of language
or risk never being able to learn them at all. Fortunately,
language is so prevalent in our lives that most children
are not at risk of missing the sensitive periods
of language acquisition. However, we are not so fortunate
when it comes to music acquisition.
James Wenzel counts
Bon Iver, Panic at the Disco and Patrick Stump regulars
on his music playlist. Wenzel, now a freshman majoring
in music at Tulane University, is exploring a lot of
different genres as well. “I do appreciate jazz
and will check out an open mic tomorrow,” he recently
said in an interview.
Wenzel started learning the bass at
New Mozart at 12 years old and moved onto the acoustic
guitar a year later. “It was great, extremely
professional yet laid back,” Wenzel says of his
music experience.
