Harmony Road Win/Spr Priority Registration Starts 10/31! (Group Piano for 3-6 yr olds)

Group Piano for Children 3 & up

Thank you for your interest in our Harmony Road program. Priority registration for Winter/Spring 2019 is available 10/31-11/6 to current New Mozart Families ONLY. General enrollment starts 11/7.

I am a professional, classically trained singer who has performed regularly at the New York Metropolitan Opera for the past 10 years...I have spent a lot of time in music classes for my young daughters, and The New Mozart School of Music is absolutely unique in its approach to teaching music to young children...We are so fortunate to have this amazing school in our community.

- Malin Fritz Walrod

Would you forbid your child to speak until he learned how to read first?

This may sound like an absurd question, but this is how traditional, reading based piano lessons are taught.

In traditional piano lessons, note reading, posture, & technique are some of the most important components!

Those are all wonderful & necessary things to master eventually...,

But what if your child is 3, 4, 5, or even 6. What if s/he doesn't know how to read, or just started to read?

Should you wait till he's older to take up piano lessons or push ahead with traditional piano lessons?

What if we told you that there is a better way?

Come & experience New Mozart's Harmony Road program which was designed to specifically address the challenges of working with young children.

Our Harmony Road teachers are trained early childhood music specialists who also have years of piano and vocal teaching experience as well.

New Mozart has been spreading the joy of music with Harmony Road since 2005.

Hundreds of families have gone through this powerful program, and many of our most talented private lesson students are graduates of this program.

Here are just some our Harmony Road graduates:

Angelina Wahler - Appeared on Bravo, Nickelodeon & numerous musical theatre productions. (In private lessons w/Teacher Diane)

Vinca Lu - Received 1st place at the US Open Competition (In private lessons w/Dr. Alexander)

Bartholomew Baker - Received Scholarship to the prestigious Interlochen camp (In private lessons w/Teacher Larisa)

Come and see why children and parents love our Harmony Road classes!

Ms. Christine, I wanted to let you know how fondly we think of having taken Harmony Road with you.  Our son, Ansel, was in your classes about 5 years ago.  Now our daughter has just turned 5 and we live in the East Bay.  We signed her up for beginning piano near our home, and it just doesn't come anywhere close to the amazing-ness of the classes you teach...

- Michelle K

This has been one of the most important activities my daughter has participated in over the past year which has contributed positively to her overall self-esteem, love for music and development of her internal understanding of her own creativity and imagination.

- Jean C.

Julia performed the two songs she wrote at the Santa Barbara Family Vacation Center Talent Show... The audience was blown away, not only that she could play a song with two hands and with chords in the left hand, but that she wrote the songs herself! This is truly a remarkable program...

Call to All String Players to Join CHMYO Orchestra in Heidelberg Germany

New Mozart School of Music is excited to partner with CHMYO (Cambridge-Heidelberg-Montpellier-Youth-Orchestra) to bring 3-4 qualified string players (age 14-17) from Palo Alto to Heidelberg this summer.

CHMYO is a prestigious youth orchestra exchange program with Heidelberg, Cambridge (UK), Montpellier (France) that began 50 years ago. The orchestra visits each of the three countries in turn each summer.

Selected musicians from Palo Alto will join CHMYO for 10 days this summer for an intensive and in depth musical experience. CHMYO will additionally organize excursions and place students with host families. The exchange consists of rehearsals during the daytime; organized trips and events, usually in the early evening, and free time for students to spend with their host families or meet up with each other. There is usually one day without rehearsals in the middle of the exchange, when there is a day trip away from the host city.

CHMYO program will be held in Heidelberg from Thursday, 26th July, to Monday, 6th August 2018.

Aims and Objectives of CHMYO:

  • To provide the opportunity for young musicians to study and perform symphonic works for orchestra with professional conductors
  • To enable students to experience the lifestyle and cultures of other European countries through an international exchange hosted by families of students
  • To develop a shared understanding between young people from different countries, through social and musical interaction

To be considered for the exchange, the student:

  • Should be able to play at an orchestra level, meaning that s/he has experience playing in an orchestra, and working with difficult sections of the music in their own time.
  • Must be a resident of Palo Alto or the immediately surrounding cities within 5 mile radius.
  • Must be between the ages of 14-17.

All expenses are paid!  CHMYO will organize host families, programs, rehearsals, excursions, pick up from airport Frankfurt/International.  Airfare to Frankfurt is not paid and the selected musicians are expected to arrange and pay for the journey to Frankfurt.

For inquiries, please email with the following information:
