We are excited to bring New Mozart students to the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Netherlands for our next international performance.
Renowned as one of the world’s great concert halls, the Concertgebouw is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics, magnificent architecture, and extraordinary musical legacy. For generations, its stages have welcomed many of the world’s most distinguished musicians, making this an incredible opportunity for our students.
Amsterdam provides an equally inspiring setting for this special experience. With its picturesque canals, historic architecture, world-class museums, and vibrant cultural life, the city offers a beautiful backdrop for our next musical adventure.
Next summer, New Mozart students will take the stage at the Concertgebouw for our Amsterdam debut—continuing a musical journey that has brought our students to some of the most celebrated concert halls in the world.
Join us for this extraordinary experience and create a musical memory that will last a lifetime!
Participation is open to all currently enrolled New Mozart students. Selection will take into account availability, playing level, and years of study at New Mozart. Please review the details below before enrolling.

-
Our goal is for every student to arrive in Amsterdam feeling confident, prepared, and excited to perform. The following timeline provides important preparation milestones leading up to our concert at the Concertgebouw on July 19, 2027.
December 2026
Performer Selection
Final performer selections will be announced by the end of December. Accepted students will confirm their participation and begin discussing appropriate repertoire with their teachers.
January 2027
Repertoire Selection
Students will work closely with their teachers to select repertoire that best represents their musical ability and is appropriate for this special performance.
Students are encouraged to take the time to carefully consider their repertoire rather than rushing the selection process.
Repertoire must be finalized and approved by New Mozart by January 31.
Please note: This deadline may need to be moved earlier or later depending on the Concertgebouw's deadline for submission of the final concert program.
February – March
Learn & Establish the Repertoire
Once repertoire is approved, students should focus on establishing:
Accurate notes and rhythm
Consistent fingering
Articulation and pedaling
Appropriate tempo
Technical security
By the end of March, students should be able to play the entire piece comfortably from beginning to end.
April
Memorization & Musical Development
Solo performers should work toward complete memorization while developing the musical aspects of their performance, including:
Phrasing
Dynamics
Tone and balance
Character and expression
Stylistic details
By April 30: The piece should be memorized and students should be able to give a complete performance from beginning to end.
A progress video or performance check may be requested by New Mozart.
May
Polishing & Performance Training
The focus now shifts from learning the music to performing it.
Students should regularly perform their piece for their teacher, family, studio class, or other small audiences.
Special attention should be given to stage presence, musical communication, entrances and endings, recovering from small mistakes, and performing without stopping or restarting.
By May 31: The piece should be fully memorized, polished, and at the final performance tempo.
June
Performance Readiness
By June, students should no longer be learning their repertoire. The goal is to develop consistency, confidence, and performance experience.
Students should regularly practice complete concert-style run-throughs and be able to perform successfully even when nervous or distracted.
New Mozart may schedule a performance or coaching checkpoint during June.
Early July
Maintain, Don't Rebuild
The final weeks should be about maintaining the performance rather than making major changes.
Students should continue regular practice while avoiding last-minute changes to fingering, interpretation, or tempo unless recommended by their teacher or New Mozart faculty.
The goal is to arrive in Amsterdam feeling rested, confident, and excited to perform.
