Since 2015, Teacher Valerie has been a dedicated member of the New Mozart team, bringing her passion for teaching and her love for music to every classroom. As Senior Harmony Road educator, she has spent over a decade helping young children discover the joy of learning music, while also training New Mozart's Harmony Road instructors to be effective educators. Instilling a love of music is a gift Valerie has honed through years of experience, both in group settings with students and parents and in more personalized one-on-one lessons.

In private lessons for voice and piano, Valerie offers students a deeper understanding and connection to music. Valerie takes pride in working with children, teens, and adults alike, fostering a love for learning that transcends age. A unique aspect of her studio is her focus on teaching students to sing and play simultaneously, helping them accompany themselves on the piano while they sing. She specializes in teaching modern skills like reading chord charts and improvisation, while also bringing years of experience in classical piano, jazz, ragtime, and contemporary styles.

As a classical dramatic soprano with an extended vocal range (C3-C6), Valerie’s vocal expertise spans across various genres, including Gospel, Musical Theater, Classical, Jazz, and Pop. She is especially passionate about teaching young voices, carefully guiding them to ensure healthy vocal development and prevent damage during the critical stages of growth. Valerie also enjoys working with teens and adults, creating a fun and therapeutic learning environment that encourages personal growth and discovery.
